These rules outline the guidelines and conditions that both participants and organizers must adhere to during the festival. They are designed to ensure fair competition, protect intellectual property, and maintain the integrity of the event.

  1. Individuals serving as judges, members of our festival team, and sponsors, along with their affiliates and immediate family members, are ineligible to participate in the competition.

  2. All script submissions must be in the English language.

  3. Once a script is entered into the competition, we will not accept substitutions or revised drafts. If you intend to submit a revised version of your script, please enter it as a new submission.

  4. When submitting online to the Cambridge Script Festival, you must include the names of all writers in the entry form. “Written by” credits on the script file itself are optional. By submitting online, you confirm that all writers have given their authorization for the submission. In cases where a screenplay is authored by multiple individuals, all cash prizes and awards will be presented to the designated entrant, with distribution to be determined by the writers themselves.

  5. We accept screenplays exclusively in the following formats: .PDF, Final Draft, Movie Magic Screenwriter, Microsoft Word, Rich Text Format, or Text.

  6. Submitted entries will not be returned, so please ensure you keep copies of all materials submitted.

  7. Screenwriters who enter the Cambridge Script Festival retain full rights to their scripts.

  8. Submissions must be received by the specified Entry Deadline.

  9. The Cambridge Script Festival will not share your screenplay with anyone beyond the official competition judges without prior consent.

  10. By participating in the Cambridge Script Festival, you affirm that your entry is an original work and does not infringe upon the copyrights or rights of other individuals or legal entities.

  11. Entry fees are non-refundable.

  12. Entrants have the option to include author and/or contact information on the cover page of their entry at their discretion; however, it is not mandatory.

  13. The decisions of the judges are considered final.

  14. Our festival reserves the right to modify, cancel, or reschedule event dates, awards, and categories. All submitters will be notified of any changes via email and our online platforms. The festival staff reserves the right to substitute any advertised prize with another prize of comparable value.

  15. By submitting to the Cambridge Script Festival, you consent to our terms and conditions, as well as receiving marketing newsletters and discounts related to film and screenplay festivals via email. Rest assured that we will never sell your information to third parties.

  16. The festival organizers have the right to use publicly available photos, promotional materials, and information about our submitters. These materials may be employed for educational, promotional, or commercial purposes.
